I’ve just landed in Thailand after an insane 36 hours of travel, my longest travel day to date. A 14 hour flight to Japan, followed by a 7 hour flight to Bangkok, then four hours attempting to sleep on an airport bench before my last hour-long flight to Phuket, I’ve FINALLY made it the marina! In about 6 hours, I’ll be boarding the yacht I’ll be calling home for this week, which my crew mates and I have christened the Tuk Tuk Goose.
I’m off for a week sailing around some gorgeous Thai islands, including Koh Hong (where I camped two years ago!), Koh Phi Phi, and my first visit to Koh Lanta. It’s all part of The Yacht Week Thailand, an organized event involving 20 boats and 200 people from around the world……getting crazy and weird.
From what I understand, it’s going to be a week filled with heavy drinking, crazy parties, new tan lines and gorgeous scenery. I’m so excited to meet up with my group, some of whom I know well and others I’ve yet to meet, who are all on their way now.
This week I don’t have five great photos to share, because I’ve spent the week with the family in Texas celebrating the holidays, and I don’t want to bore you with all the photos I took of my beloved family dog, Hermione Granger. Even though she is the cutest dog ever.
Instead, there’s just one photo – this is the view I’m looking at right now. One of these bad boys is our yacht, I don’t know which yet……our chariot for a week of fun and debauchery. This will be my first New Years Eve in another country!
Let’s get this party started!
